3 Foods that Fight Inflammation

There are more then 3 foods that fight inflammation but I want to highlight these 3 that most people already have in their refrigerator.

Why do you want to fight inflammation anyways? Inflammation can cause disease in our body. It also makes us not feel good…..that bloat you have….inflammation. Do you joints hurt? Does your stomach hurt after eating certain foods or any food? Do you feel achy or stiff? All due to inflammation.

There are a lot of ways inflammation can show up in our bodies and there are a lot of ways to fight inflammation. Nutrition is one way. Let’s go over the 3 foods that fight inflammation so you can get started fighing right now!

  1. Fish-start eating your fatty fish. Salmon, tuna, sardines are all great sources of protein and they help with fighting inflammation. If you don’t like those kinds of fish or know you won’t eat them 2x a week then start with a Omega-3 fish oil supplement. It will give you the same benefits for reducing inflammation.
  2. Blueberries-really all berries are great at this because they are high in antioxidants and polyphenols (a protective compound found in plants). Eat them fresh or frozen and know that you are doing something great for your body!
  3. Greens-spinach, kale, brussel sprouts. Pop-eye was right……eat your spinach. These veggies have more vitamin E in them to help fight against inflammation.

Start with these foods and then you can add more anti-inflammatory foods to your list and you can start decreasing foods that cause inflammation (think processed foods, fast food, high fat, high sugar…etc. basically the American diet!)
