3 Tips To Get You Back On Track-Fall Edition

Fall is here!  School is back in session, the weather is getting cooler at night and the leaves are starting to turn colors.  Living in the midwest we are lucky to have all 4 seasons.  Every time a new season starts it’s like a start-over or try something new kind of time.  So, even though we are not ready to winterize the boat, close the pool or put away our flip flops now is the time to re-start your fitness routine.  If you have been slacking a bit this summer-don’t worry, this 3 tips will help you jump start your healthy routine.

  1.  Plan.  I can’t say this 1 word enough-PLAN.  Plan your meals, plan your meal prep day, plan when you go grocery shopping, plan your workouts.  Take a few minutes to look over your weekly schedule then plan out your meals accordingly.  If there is a night when no one is going to home together make a slow cooker supper or cook 1 meal earlier in the week and then re-heat the leftovers.  Plan your workouts.  Look at your weekly schedule and see where you can get in your cardio and strength training workouts.  Your workouts don’t need to last hours, 20-30 minutes will suffice.  PLAN.
  2. K.I.S.S-keep is super simple.  Make your weeknight supper easy to make that everyone will enjoy.  Save the detailed recipes for the weekends.  Sheet pan suppers are very easy to make and healthy.  View this BBQ Chicken recipe and more sheet pan suppers here:  http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/barbecue-chicken-and-brussels-sprout-sheet-pan-dinner-3543896    If you need help with what to make check out this amazing site that gives you monthly recipes based on what you like: https://secure.onceamonthmeals.com/affiliate/ptwithlisa
  3. Get a buddy.  Share your goal with a friend and ask them to keep your accountable.  Plan time to go to the gym together.  Instead of planning a happy hour at a bar plan a happy hour at the gym.  You will get to spend time together and get your workout in.  Plus, it’s always more fun to workout with a friend.  Research has shown time after time-people that have an accountablity partner have a higher chance of reaching their goals and maintain their weight loss VS those that try to go at it alone.  So, find your workout buddy and starting planning your workout times.

By implementing these simple tips you will be back into a new, healthy routine and feeling energized for the fall season.  If you are interested in learning how you can be part of an amazing fitness community schedule your tour here http://www.bodyworksprescott.com
