Golf Stretches
It may look like winter outside, but very soon it will be golf season. Will your body be ready for it this year? Now is the perfect time to get your body ready for the upcoming golf season. Whether your goal is to hit the ball farther, hit the ball harder or to just beat your buddy at a round. The flexibility exercises below will help.
Flexiblity training is essential to developing the mobility needed to execute a proficient golf swing. Some of the benefits of following a flexibility program is: increases joint range of motion, decreased stress on the joints, improves performance, and decreases risk of injury.
Erector Spinae stretch
The erector spinae stretch helps with mobility in the thoracic spine. Without proper mobility through the thoracic spine the backswing is limited and so is the front swing. Plus, without a strong and mobile thoracic spine, you may experience low back pain.
Sit on the floor with your legs straight, bend your right knee and bring your right foot over your left leg. Put your right foot on the floor (it will be next to your left knee). Twist towards your right knee. If you are able put both hands on the floor on the right side. If not, put the right hand on the floor and the left hand on your right thigh. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat on the other side.

Start stretching and see the difference in your golf swing this spring!
