Healthy Superbowl Tips

The big game is this weekend. Did you know that the Superbowl is the 2nd biggest food “holiday” behind Thanksgiving!!! That’s crazy….but chicken wings, nachos and beer are delicious. So, how can you stay on track with your goals on this day? Here are some tips that will help you stay on track and still enjoy the day.

  1. Host the party-it is easier to make healthy food when you are in charge of hosting the party. Some easy and healthy food ideas are: taco bar, pulled pork or grilled hamburgers.
  2. If you don’t like to host parties then-bring a healthy option to share. Some ideas I like to bring are: veggies & hummus, fruit & cheese tray, and baked chicken wings.
  3. Drink water-make sure to keep up your water consumption! It will help you feel full and flush out the extra sodium you may be consuming.

I hope these tips can help you be healthy and still enjoy the big game. What’s your favorite part of the Superbowl? My favorite part is the commercials…….I’m hoping for some funny ones this year.
