How to Stay on Track This Summer (Without Skipping the S’mores or the High Noon)

Let’s be honest — summer isn’t exactly the easiest season to stay “on track” with your health goals.

Between road trips, lake days, bbq’s, and vacations… it’s easy to let your routine go. And if you’re a woman in your 40s or beyond, your body doesn’t bounce back like it used to.

But here’s the truth: you don’t have to choose between having fun and feeling good in your body.

You just need the right mindset and a few simple strategies to help you stay consistent without being strict.

💭 It Starts With Mindset

Focus on progress over perfection. That means:

  • You can have the s’mores at the cabin.
  • You can sip the High Noon on the boat.
  • You can still enjoy your summer and feel strong, energized, and confident.

It’s not about earning your food or starting over every Monday. It’s about showing up for yourself in small ways — like getting in a quick strength workout, drinking water between drinks, or fueling your body with protein first.

You don’t need a “perfect” day to make progress. You just need the mindset that says:
I care about how I feel — and I’m worth the effort.

🧳 Healthy Travel Tips That Actually Work

Traveling this summer? Whether you’re road-tripping to the lake or flying out for vacation, here’s how to stay on track without stressing:

Pack smart snacks:

  • Veggies + hummus cups
  • Protein bars (15g+ protein, low sugar)
  • Turkey slices with avocado
  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Berries + a protein shake packet

At restaurants or airports:

  • Prioritize protein first
  • Add veggies or a side salad
  • Choose grilled over fried
  • Ask for dressing or sauces on the side
  • Drink water or sparkling water instead of soda

It’s all about choosing what feels good — not what feels like punishment.
