Jalapeno Infused Agave
One Friday night I wanted to make a spicy margarita to use some jalapeno’s from the garden. I wanted to do more then just throw some jalapeno slices in the drink, then I thought-what if I infuse the agave I use to sweeten the margaritas with jalapenos. Would that work?
YES! It made the best cocktail and it’s super easy to make.
Put 1 cup of agave in a saucepan with 1 sliced jalapeno (depending on how spicy you want it remove seeds and rib). Warm the mixture up on medium. Once warm let sit for 15-60 minutes (depending on how spicy you want it. The longer it sits the spicier it will be). Strain the jalapeno and seeds out and you have Jalapeno infused Agave.
How to use jalapeno infused agave:
In spicy margarita, watermelon margaritas, mango margaritas, pineapple margaritas, to spice up lemonade…..the list is endless.
I store mine in a glass jar in the fridge. Please note: it does get spicier the longer it sits.
Have fun spicing up your cocktail/mocktails!
