Mid Year Check-in

The year is 1/2 over. Are you on track to reach your goals you set in January? Now is a great time to do a mid-year check in with yourself. Maybe you have already reached your goal or maybe you have fallen off the wagon, that’s ok! There is time to re-evaluate and still reach your goals.
How to do a mid-year check in? Open up your journal to see the goals you set for the year. If you have already reached them-congrats!! Celebrate and set some new goals for the rest of the year. If you have not yet reached them but you are on track to reach them-congrats! Celebrate and keep going. If you have fallen off the wagon-that’s ok there is still time to reach your goal (or at least come close!!!)
What to do if you have fallen off the wagon? For starters you need to pick yourself up and start again. Here are some tips to help you get started so you can finish the year successfully.
- Look at your goal and break it down into smaller goals you can achieve each month. Example: if your goal for the year was to lose 30lbs-you have 6 months left. People can safely and consistently lose 1-2lbs per week so get going!! You have 26 weeks left to reach your goal.
- Look at what your roadblocks were the past 6 months and make a plan to get around them for the next 6 months. Example: your friends always want to go to happy hour and that derails your healthy eating plans. Instead of meeting for happy hour ask them to meet for a walk or for coffee. You are still catching up but without all the extra calories.
- Celebrate your successes! Losing weight can be frustrating so figure out how you can celebrate every success. Example: every 5lbs lost buy yourself a new exercise top or try a new workout class.
These tips can help you get back on track so you can reach the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the year. Remember, you are not a failure-you got this!!
