Should you use supplements?

With so many supplements on the market today it is hard to know which ones to use and even if you should be using them.  I do think that supplements have a place in your diet but they should not be used replace food on a consistent basis.  You need to learn how to eat healthy, balanced food for your body.  Supplements are here to enhance a healthy, balanced diet.  Here is a list of the supplements I use and why I like them.

  1. Isagenix Isalean Shakes- Isalean Shakes are a balanced meal replacement in a convenient shake! It features whey protein, energy-fueling carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals.  Having a shake for 1 meal is a great way to get in all your protein, carbs and fat for that meal.  They are great for busy mornings when you don’t have time to make a meal.  Great for traveling and they are kid approved!  You can read more about Isalean shakes  and other products I love at: https://bodyworksprescott.isagenix.com/
  2. Purefit bars-these bars are delicious!!  They are the perfect snack when you are running errands and they don’t melt in the heat.  I always have one in the car and one in my purse-that way I am always prepared for when hunger strikes. You can find these at www.purefit.com
  3. Protein powder-This one is a must.  I don’t love to eat meat so in order to get in enough protein I  need to add protein powder to my smoothies and other food.  Right now I am loving PE Science Cafe collection.  I mean who doesn’t want a caramel macchiato that fits in their diet!

4. Multi-vitamins-I think taking a daily mutli-vitamin is like an insurance policy.  It is not going to prevent you from getting sick but it can help build up your immune system so you are better able to fight off colds and if you do get sick the duraction of the sickness is not as long.  I have tried lots of multi vitamins over the years.  There are chewables, tablets, pills, liquids.  I currently take a Women’s multi-vitamin from Whole Foods.  But, once these are gone I am going to try Isagenix’s vitamins as they offer CoQ-10, which is great for cell function, muscle recovery, and warding off heart disease (it runs in my family so better to be over cautious-you can’t outrun your genes but you can do everything to help prevent it from happening)

So, there is my list of the supplements I use on a weekly basis.  I hope this helps you sort through the shelves of supplements at the stores and online.  If you have any questions, please comment below.
