What 3 Supplements You Need Now!




Supplements-what are they, do you really need them and if so, what ones do you need?  In today’s post I’ll break down the top 3 supplements that I use and why I think you need them too!

  1. a multi-vitamin.  I believe that everyone (including kids) needs to be taking a multi-vitamin.  Why? because we do not eat enough fruits and veggies and we don’t need enough variety of foods to give our bodies all the nutrients it needs.  Did you know you would need to eat 16 oranges per day to get all the vitamin C your body needs???  Do you eat 16 oranges every day?? I’m going to guess NO, which is why I think everyone needs a multi-vitamin.  Most people start to feel better within days of taking a multi-vitamin, things like increased energy level, less cravings, sleeping better, less stressed feeling….etc.
  2. Omega-3.  Omega 3 is very important for brain health.  You find omega-3’s in fatty fish like salmon.  If you currently are eating salmon 2+ times per week, great job, you are probably getting your omega-3 fatty acids that your body needs.  If you are not eating salmon 2+ times per week then adding this nutrient into your diet will help with brain health, inflammation and more.  You can find Omega-3 fatty acids in pill form or liquid form.
  3. Protein Powder.  Get in your protein!  It’s important to get enough protein in your diet for a number of reasons.  For females if you are looking to lose weight eating enough protein will help you keep  and build muscle and burn fat.  Protein powder is a quick and easy way to add protein into your diet.  You could make a shake for breakfast, add it to your oatmeal, add it to your pancakes….etc.

So, how do you know what to buy?  If you already have a multi-vitamin at home then take the water test-place your multi-vitamin in a glass of warm water.  It should completely dissolve before 20 minutes, if it does not then it’s not dissolving in your body which means you are not getting all the nutrients from that multi-vitamin that your body needs.

Make sure your multi-vitamin, Omega-3 and protein powder are organic, non-GMO and pharmaceutical grade.  You don’t want to be putting chemicals into your body.
